Scooto was part of the Brazilian delegation at the 12th World Forum on Human Rights and Business at the invitation of Carlo Linkevieius Pereira, CEO of the UN Global Compact in Brazil.
In November 2023, at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, the Forum brought together companies from all over the world to promote discussions on the impact of the private sector on the protection of human rights.
Representing Scooto in the Brazilian delegation were Marina Vaz and Diego Locci, founders of Scooto, and Natany Luiz, Institutional Relations.
“Today, it’s private power that moves, that finances campaigns, that gets people in and out. We have public power, but the private sector holds a large part of this transformative power. It’s great to see giant companies making commitments to the UN Global Compact and, of course, accounting for these commitments (which is what will need to happen in the coming months and years). I can mention the Educa movement, Globo’s Led… here we’ve seen the commitment of companies like Uber, Edux, 99jobs, which have been on this path for a while. It’s very important to be here, says Marina.
Take a look back at the steps Scooto has already taken on the road to sustainability with the UN Global Compact:
Signatory of the UN Global Compact in Brazil
In March 2023, Scooto became a signatory to the UN Global Compact in Brazil. This movement signified Scooto’s commitment to meeting the socio-environmental needs of the world.
67th #CSW (Commission on the Status of Women)
Also in March 2023, Scooto was in New York, represented by founders Marina Vaz and Diego Locci, in the Brazilian delegation to the 67th #CSW (Commission on the Status of Women), the UN’s largest annual meeting on gender equality and women’s empowerment;
SDGs In Brazil
In September 2023, Scooto took part in SDGs in Brazil, an event that brought together top leaders to discuss the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN’s 2030 Agenda, also in New York;
They Lead and Race is a Priority
Scooto has made a commitment to the Elas Lideram and Raça é Prioridade movements, which seek to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals focused on race and gender issues. Also in November 2023, Scooto was represented by Marina Vaz at the Breakfast with CEOs in São Paulo to discuss these objectives;
12th World Forum on Human Rights and Business
Finally, Scooto was part of the Forum discussing the role of companies in protecting human rights. Decent work is the third pillar within these Scooto relationships, and human rights also involve work that can be carried out with quality of life, without precariousness.
“We remain firmly committed to women’s leadership, racial reparations and decent work,” says Natany Luiz, Institutional Relations Officer at Scooto.
