Remote working and the constant need for control
There is a certain insecurity in the collective subconscious, especially among employers, when it comes to 100% remote work. Even with the forced experiment, promoted by the pandemic that began in 2020, there is still resistance from some companies to adopt and trust the remote model. Part of this revolves around a clear need: control.
Scooto is a company that was born remote and always intends to be. The nature of the working model Scooto has chosen means that the question sometimes arises: How can we guarantee that operations will take place within the contracted hours?
At Scooto, the working relationship is built on trust from day 0, but that doesn’t mean that customers don’t have guarantees. The collaborative essence of the work carried out by the startup ends up providing some security in relation to the commitment and delivery of each Scooter, since failure to fulfill individual duties has a direct impact on the team.
What happens is a natural selection process. After the paid trial period that all Scooteiras undergo, the people who are not suited to this working model don’t stay. The work, in all operations, requires great self-management skills. In addition, the Scooteiras always have a manager whose job it is to ensure that the operations run smoothly.
Scooto’s figures prove that remote working has no negative impact on results – on the contrary. The company’s sales and pre-sales conversion rate is on average 40% to 60% above the market average.
In its four years in the market, Scooto does not consider that remote working has harmed the results of its operations; on the contrary. The freedom to work from wherever they want or need to has led to greater productivity. The company’s turnover is less than 6% and internal satisfaction is remarkable. The sales and support results that Scooto has achieved prove that it is possible to guarantee delivery remotely.
For you, does it make sense to give people autonomy in order to get the best results or, in your opinion, is it face-to-face work that guarantees good results?
